Heh all.
Lately I’ve been wondering about getting Google Analytics for ye olde Gratuitous Rex. I figure it would be a great way for me to learn it since I’ve never used it before.
However, I have a basic free plan for WordPress and as far as I can tell, GA is only available for the Business subscription, not even the premium.
And I believe I’d have to self-host GRex, which I’m not really sure what the means.
I’ll look it up tomorrow but wanted to take a temperature and see if any blog peeps or visitors have experience with those and could provide any feedback.
Thanks,
GR
Self hosted means getting a subscription through a site like hostgator or godaddy, etc. I use hostgator, and I found it pretty straight forward, even when I had no idea what I was doing. They have of tutorial pages to show you how to set everything up.

I have to admit, I am not a stats person when it comes to my blog – I am more of a “get satisfaction from what I write” type of blogger. I just don’t want to do anything that makes this experience not enjoyable or stressful.

I know you can add it yourself if you have a gmail account associated with your blog addy. The only person I know who’s savvy about all that bloggy-stat tracking business, I am no longer in touch with. I found this though, which may be helpful(?): http://analytics.blogspot.com/2009/06/back-to-basics-setting-up-google.html?m=1
