You every find yourself saying things to yourself/having thoughts that are not exactly empowering? How about plain ol’ negative?
I do. And sometimes they don’t get out of my head right away.
So what do I do?
PLAY A SONG! A LOT!
Specifically, something that’s upbeat and positive. Everyone knows music can change our moods. And where do I go to find such a song?
A FIGHT MOVIE FROM THE 80’S!
It’s hard to deny that the Rocky movies have some great songs, especially during training sequences, like Gonna Fly Now, Eye of the Tiger, or this ditty from Rocky 4
BEHOLD! HEARTS ON FIRE!!!
Or if Sly isn’t quite your thing, perhaps this Joe Esposito classic “You’re the Best Around” from The Karate Kid.
I dare you to be negative after listening to these songs a few times. Best of all, the positivity lingers and songs just get stuck in my head all day.
What songs put you in a good mood?
I have an entire playlist of what I call my “move it” tunes, use them for workouts, long road trips and smile makers.

The opening scene of Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta walking with those paint cans. Positive and iconic.

Steppenwolf. Born to be Wild. I’ve yet to get a speeding ticket when it comes on the radio. Yep..still listen to radio in my car. I like the randomness. ☺

When I have to go uphill with the bike, I play the Rocky training song in my head… And sometimes out loud too… 😀
