So i was just looking at a job opening in Ronkonkoma, Long Island. It seems like a good position, I may apply for it.
But Ronkonkoma is waaaaaaaaaaay EAST on Long Island and I’m waaaaaaaaaaay WEST (Brooklyn is on the western-most tip of Long Island.)
So the commute could be an hour and a half by car. Each way.
EEEEESH!!
My friend “Big Mike” used to do that exact commute in reverse, from Ronkonkoma to Brooklyn. And I wad thinking about Big Mike.
When all of a sudden I get a text. Yep… from BIG MIKE!!!
Something completely random about him knowing about an apartment in Brooklyn and if I knew of anyone looking to let him know.
HOLY CRAP! That was frickin BIZARRE. I think I have psychic powers after that one.
Talk about EEEEEEEEEEEERIIIIIIIIIE
And yes, I realize that I could, in theory, move to closer in Long Island. I don’t own the place I’m living in. It would be a huge change from Brooklyn.
But sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
COINCIDENCES!!!!!!!!
So…maybe not a coincidence ? Just love the name “Ronko……etc.”

Every time I dream of someone random they seem to appear in my life somehow. Maybe we’re both psychic! I had a dream once about some old coworker that totally came true as well.

I currently have a tough commute.
Usually 1hr and 15min in the morning and 1hr and 30min in the afternoon. Over the last two years I have put 70,000 miles on my car.
It’s tough but I really enjoy what I do, so it is a sacrifice I am willing to make.
However if you can find a place closer, whew!!

Seriously. I do live pretty close to Manhattan, which is known to have a place or two for people to work. I’m looking there too. : )
